Tackling the Vicious Circle at COP29

11 Nov 2024

Join us at COP29 to discuss the Interim report on Debt, Climate and Nature on Saturday 16th November, 13:15-14:45 AZT (GMT+4).

The event will present and discuss the Interim Report of the Expert Review on Debt, Nature and Climate, exploring the 'vicious circle'; which links high levels of indebtedness, climate impacts and nature loss. The event will explore potential reforms to the international financial and debt architecture which can enable vulnerable countries to invest more in climate and nature resilience. We hope the discussion will inform the Expert Review’s work towards its Final Report in spring 2025, which in itself will contribute towards discussions in the G20, G7, IMF, World Bank and other international financial institutions.
